How to Make Brown Sugar Syrup
Learn how to make a staple-house-made brown sugar syrup used in cafes at home, which you can use to style and sweeten your bubble drinks.
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup muscovado sugar
- 1/3 tsp lemon or lime juice
Boil a cup of water and mix the brown sugar until dissolved.
Heat another small pot and add the muscovado sugar until dissolved.
Add 1/3 tsp of lemon or lime juice to prevent the sugar from crystallizing.
Then combine the brown sugar water mixture to the dissolved muscovado sugar.
Bring to a light boil and stir occasionally.
Once the syrup thickens, turn off the heat and let it cool before serving.
