Hi everyone, how are you? Today, I am sharing a few new items from Ikea for my glassware collection and a new coffee alternative discovery from Cafe Capomo!
I went to IKEA last weekend and saw the cutest mugs. They can hold about 8 oz of liquid, I usually drink 16 oz of either coffee or tea, but this small size is a good change. What drew me to buy the mugs is that they are cute. The aesthetics always gets me. Also, they are affordable which fills my heart because they don’t hurt my pocket :P. Little joys like this make me whole and give me an escape from reality.
Another discovery last week is Cafe Capomo. My husband’s grandmother has an autoimmune disease, and because of that, she decided to change her food lifestyle. She’s been craving coffee for some time but couldn’t bring herself to drink regular coffee because of the jitters & other things. So, she was searching for alternatives and came across this coffee brand. This product is entirely new to me and I’m starting to like it. I like what the product promises. So, I am brewing a nice cup of coffee with my new mugs from IKEA.
Which cup should I use?
What is Cafe Capomo?
This is the website of the brand that you can check out. But the ground coffee is essentially made from Maya Nut, a seed, not a proper nut. My husband’s grandmother sent me this article about Maya Nut. But from what I read is that it’s a seed from a native tree in Latin America. The seed is caffeine and gluten-free. It also has a neutral glycemic, which makes it an excellent alternative for people with diabetes and those who are watching their sugar.
According to the packaging, you can brew it using a French press, a stovetop, or a drip coffee maker. I decided to use a pour-over.
The liquid looks precisely like a regular pour-over coffee. I don’t taste acidity, but this nutty flavor is surprisingly pleasant. I usually drink my pour-over coffee with whole milk to counter the acidity and bitterness, but with this one, I could get away with oat milk and still taste good. I need to adjust and figure out how many teaspoons of ground Maya Nut seed I put in the filter to find the right balance of flavors. But overall, it’s pretty delicious! I’m so glad my husband’s grandmother shared her discovery with me.
