On busy days and weekends, this is our go-to healthy blueberry banana smoothie. It’s my favorite smoothie to make because it’s effortless, and I love that it’s full of antioxidants from the blueberries.
I love buying banana’s whenever I go to the grocery store. But I don’t go through them fast enough. So, I freeze them as well as my leftover blueberries. So, this is also what we make on weekends, especially when Zach feels like having a light breakfast before going out for a run.
How to Make a Healthy Blueberry Banana Smoothie
What you will need:
- Frozen blueberries
- Frozen bananas
- Vanilla Vegan protein powder
- Hemp seed
- MCT oil
- Macadamia milk
- Coconut water
- Blueberry powder
- Optional: vanilla stevia or other sweeteners
Instructions:
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately and enjoy!

What is MCT Oil?
It is a supplement that’s a great source of instant energy. MCT means medium-chain triglycerides, which are fats found in foods like coconut oil. Because it is a shorter chain length compared to long-chain triglycerides (LCT), they are broken down quickly and absorbed into the body. They are also less likely to be stored as fat. Can I use other milk alternatives?
Yes, you can! I also made this smoothie with almond milk and coconut milk. It comes out creamier.
Why add blueberry powder?
Because I love adding that extra boost of antioxidants. It’s just blueberries minus the water, and you can add this to your yogurt and smoothies if you don’t have fresh blueberries at home.

Healthy Blueberry Banana Smoothie
Ingredients
- 1 cup frozen blueberries
- 1/3 cup frozen banana
- 1 tbsp vanilla vegan protein powder
- 1 tsp hemp seed
- 1 tsp blueberry powder optional
- 1 tbsp tbsp MCT Oil
- 1/2 cup macadamia milk
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1 tsp maple syrup optional or use other healthy alternative sweetener
Instructions
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend until smooth. Serve immediately.
Notes
- If the smoothie is too thick, add a little bit of macadamia milk.
- If the smoothie is too runny, add more frozen bananas until you reach your desired consistency.
- You can use honey, agave, vanilla stevia, and dates as an alternative sweetener to sweeten your smoothie.
