I have seen this ramen hack go viral with everyone putting their spin on it. I love watching those videos, but I haven’t had the urge to try it because I am a creature of habit and I eat the same ramen until my palette says it’s time to find a new favorite. My favorite is Samyong but when I saw foodieonfleek made a viral ramen hack recipe, I immediately thought I had to try it. I love love spicy ramen and Skyler’s was crave worthy. So, today let’s make a ramen hack recipe; I modified some ingredients because first, it’s what I only have in my family’s kitchen. Second, it’s okay to make it your own and because it’s also fun that way :D!
How to make the viral ramen hack?
Here’s what you will need:
Ingredients:
- Water
- Butter
- Sriracha
- Kimchi
- Heavy whipping cream
- Shin ramen spicy powder packet
- Shin ramen dried vegetable packet
- Cheese
- Seaweed
Instructions:
- Pour water into a stockpot and let it come to a boil. Then add your shin ramen noodles. Let the noodles cook just before it’s ready. Drain the water but save a little bit for the sauce.
- Add the butter, sriracha, and chopped kimchi in a saucepan and sauté. Then add a little bit of the water from the noodles, heavy whipping cream, shin spicy powder and dried vegetable packets and stir. Let everything for another minute and then add the cheese. Wait until fully melted then stir to combine all the ingredients. Once ready, add the noodles and mix until all the noodles are coated with the sauce. Turn off the heat and pour the ramen into a bowl. Garnish with dried seaweed. Serve and enjoy!

The viral ramen hack came from social media. I see many variations on Instagram, Facebook, and Tik Tok. The goal is to replace the seasoning packets and create your sauce or incorporate additional flavoring to enhance the ramen dish further. It is also mostly done on soup-less instant ramen packets.
Is it good?
I think it is and it’s very fun to make :D. This is especially useful for college students who live in dorms or shared kitchen spaces. The hack is quick and easy to make, especially for those late-night study sessions.
