Every so often, I would get a Drink Sammee boba kit, and over time, I learned some tips and tricks along the way. Today I am sharing a few additional steps on how I cook Drink Sammee Tapioca Pearls Easily.
Because the instruction manual that comes with the boba kit does not say how many cups of water you would need to cook the pearls, I would usually start with about two cups of water with 1/4 or 1/2 uncooked tapioca pearls. Sometimes, I need more water midway through, so I always prepare at least four cups of water for every 1/2 cup of pearls.
1/2 cup of tapioca pearls will get you about two to three servings of boba. Depending on how much boba you put in your glass and if your glass is about 16oz tall. For single servings, I would do 1/4 cup of tapioca pearls for 2 cups of water.
Another thing to remember is to make sure the water is boiling before adding the pearls. If you don’t, you will see some pearls will start to crumble as the water temperature begins to boil. So, these are my steps for a single serving drink:
- Add two cups of water to a saucepan.
- Let the water boil.
- Once boiling, add 1/4 cup of tapioca pearls.
- Let the pearls cook for about 25 minutes. (This is when you follow the instruction manual that comes with the boba kit).
- Stir occasionally and you will see the pearls will start floating to the top of the water.
- After 25 minutes, the tapioca pearls should be darker and all are floating to the top.
- Turn off the heat. Set the saucepan aside to cool for 20 minutes.
- After 20 minutes, transfer the tapioca pearls to a bowl and add the brown sugar from the packet.
- Mix and serve!
Tips:
While waiting for the pearls to cook, I usually prepare my milk tea mixture. Tea takes time to steep and cool, so I typically do that right after the pearls are in the saucepan for 25 minutes. And by the time everything is ready, the pearls are ready to be served 🙂
What tapioca pearl brands are your favorite? If I run out of Drink Sammee tapioca pearls, I would go to HMart and buy the tapioca pearls from there. I stopped purchasing some on Amazon because some of the brands have ingredients that are not the healthiest. I often find pearls that look similar to Drink Sammee, and that’s when I know they are good.
Thank you so much for reading! Have a good day!
